African tribal art, KELA fetish statuette from the Democratic Republic of Congo. This statuette shows good signs of age, use, and exposure. As like other tribal art pieces, they do have natural abrasions and scuffs and sometimes small scrapes. Rare Kela statuette Kela are a small sub-tribe of Mboles, which they share the same Lilwa secret society and whose works are closely related. Their pieces are very cubist structure, recognizable by their two-tone bands. The Kela are best known for their statuary see the book "The intelligence of forms" by Willy Mestach p. 220, the masks are much rarer. Nice and old piece by its quality, its good condition.
