A PUNU mask embodies the close connection between the world of the living and the dead in African beliefs. They are mostly feminine in nature. These distinctive signs, called mabinda, were made in children around the age of ten to fourteen.This bronze mask is of high quality and was made with the cire perdue technique, and is therefore unique in its kind.
