PUNU tribal masks are typically characterized with coiffure and pigmented face, including geometric scarifications.
Representing female ancestors, the masks are usually painted white as a symbol for purity and peace. Alternatively white beads and metal jewelry are sometimes used for highly intricate/rare pieces such as the one here. Please note these are traditional/old masks.
